| IM IN HONGKONG// Day 1
Hong Kong - a place that i have never been.
My friends have been telling me how great Hong Kong is,
the food , great bargains, and FOOD.
Finally, a chance for me to roam around Hong Kong to satisfy my curiosity and appetite.
Well, apparently i missed the sales period so i didn't get much shopping done...
Nevertheless, i was able to enjoy myself to the point i fell ill.
Falling sick is not a fun thing at all.
So excited that I could barely sleep on the plane...
Ended up tossing and turning but still fail to sleep...
Even though I'm one of those that can totally dose off on the plane.
I guess I've been taking too much plane rides.
After Hong Kong was Osaka and i felt horrible on the plane ride home.
Clouds clouds~
Perks of getting the window seat , WOOP
&&& not to forget a plane wefie with my family joining me on this trip
(without my brother though)
It has been years since we traveled together to countries other than Malaysia.
Organizing the schedule wasn't easy but we did it ~
Woohoo~
Upon getting out of the departure hall, candid photos were taken.
And there we were strolling happily out to get our luggage...
Grabbed our luggage where my bag took the longest &
everyone started scaring me that it be lost.
Please, that's not funny
Checklist
Before getting into the city
got our train pass named Octopus
like there's suica (watermelon) for Japan's train pass.
I wondered where they got the names
My face got pretty bloated after i got down the plane...
Nowadays, my face gets bloated easily.
What's worst , more often than not,
it stays on for the whole day
Its my fault because it happens whenever i eat supper the night before.
Bad habits never die.
Prepaid card
OIOI or 0101?
Fiddled with the phone
& we're off
Notice that all our right legs are up.
Group photo
Together with my aunt's friend and her daughter
& the map was handed to me
Out of nowhere, i just felt like taking photos ...
It's not that I've never seen a subway station before.
It's just that feeling ... at the moment.
::In a small voice:: it must be the work of a youkai
We gotta transfer ~
Express train subway train
to Olympics, the nearest station to the hotel.
Chatting?
And
whoosh, came a gush of wind
Shortly we reached the station~
However, we got to walk about 10 minutes before we get to see our hotel?
I was surprised that the weather wasn't cooling at all.
Not like what they told me
Shoulda check the weather forecast...
I ended up bringing quite a few jackets which i doubt i will wear
Because the weather is so hot...
Took this photo as i walk out of the station.
A run-down building we saw on our way to the hotel.
When we got to the hotel (Rosedale Kowloon) , it was a great time to chill at the lobby.
While waiting to check in to our rooms.
Can't wait to see how our rooms will turn out.
I think my dad got the potential
While waiting , we got bored and started taking photos again.
I'm sharing the room with my aunt but our room wasn't ready yet...
So we left our stuff at my parents' room.
We got photos of the view too
Basically just buildings...
After freshening up, it's time to head out for lunch.
Finally, finally~
And off we go~
To the Festival Mall
Chinese cuisines for lunch...
I don't often eat Chinese cuisines soooo...
I'm stunned upon this
The meat (chicken & pork) is prepared in 5 different ways and
3 different sauces were given along with it...
The one in the middle is Jellyfish.
The sauces are ginger mixed with garlic? , plum sauce and vinegar if i remember correctly.
Tried out all the different combinations
I'll just stick to the plum sauce because i'm not into ginger , garlic and vinegar.
Avocado fried rice!
Looks pretty simple but by adding the avocado,
the fried rice tasted refreshing~
we couldn't stop at just one bite.
Century egg porridge~
It's one of my favorite
It's quite big bowl and the lean meat/century egg was given very generously.
Very very generously.
With every scoop of porridge i scooped up a lot of lean meat shreds too.
It probably had 2 century eggs inside.
Not those that are thinly cut but 2 full century egg cut in half.
After lunch, it was time to explore the mall!
When we were heading to the restaurant,
we passed by some tsum tsum display
We shopped at the event store for souvenirs~
Wanted the iphone casing but bleh
nobody sells casing for Iphone 5s anymore.
Yup, my dad is making that face cuz we're just taking what we want
and he has to pay.
Here's my dad asking us which recycle bag we would like to get.
Honestly, i don't remember using it...
Errrr.
Oh yea there's that thing in Hongkong that you have to pay for the plastic carriers
or paper bags...
I don't think i can get use to that if i do grocery shopping there...
Bored of shopping?
or should i say bored of waiting? Haha
Just directly beside the store there are a number of game booths for you to play.
However, what i want are those plushies
and they are not putting it up for sale.
#whosaysmoneycanbuyyoueverything
Got this Pinocchio card holder
Are you guys surprised?
Well, i'm not actually a big fan of Pinocchio. Haha.
But the other designs have to preordered and i would be in Singapore
by the time it arrives in Hong Kong.
I'll make do with this.
It's cute tooooooooooooooo
Not just hanging at the Tsum tsum event, we went around the mall.
Window-shopping
and here's me taking photo with a piano
And i look so out of place...
We didn't just stop at this mall,
Here's our next destination>>>
As we exit the station>>>
We're heading to the temple~~
The temple is actually to the left so...
I assume it's a bridge to the temple.
My aunt was like " look here " haha
When we got in, they were closing for the day
so they were cleaning the temple.
With an announcement ,
we were all asked to leave...
On the other side of the street,
there were booths set up so we went to check it out.
Got some snacks and drinks.
Throughout the whole trip i'm just hunting for water.
Probably because it was hot and dry,
i got thirsty real fast.
Even though my mum brought along 8 bottles of water,
it's not enough.
Soon , it's almost time for dinner
and we're at the seaside.
The name of the place?
If i'm not wrong , it's xi gong
During this trip, language with the locals are the toughest.
Everything is in Cantonese , oh gosh.
We went exploring the streets while finding a restaurant for our dinner.
We came across a fruit/vegetable store
randomly
Where we bought a few bottles of passion fruit and ruby pomegranate juice
after samples were given to us.
It was surprisingly sweet instead of being utterly sour.
And here's dinner~
Seafood, seafood~
Overall, it's pretty delicious...
Just that the last dish was disappointing.
The lobster was chopped up in pieces... and
it doesn't taste like lobster anymore.. it tasted too much like gree...
But the rest was pretty good.
As we head back while walking along the coast,
i realized , it's a street full of seafood restaurant.
Pretty competitive.
hm, hm.
We took this photo to compare the size of the fish to our dad.
//where we meet this little celebrity out of nowhere but
people just crowd around it to take photos
with the question
"is it alive?" , "is it real?"
Errr, it didn't move the whole time?
Probably a marketing strategy to bring in customers...
Coincidentally, on the way back
We passed by some backstage crew getting ready for filming.
Probably should join in .
Thank you all for reading!
Hope you guys enjoyed the post & photos~
Got to go now~
It's pretty late now
I hope i can wake up for breakfast...
See you next post~~
P/S: Pardon for some blurry photos~
My aunt's phone likes to make it pixelated or blur sometimes
I'm hating my mouse because the scroll broke,
how nice...
